This shot is of the absolutely beautiful view of Lake Erie once all the twisty stairs were finally negotiated. I sat on the beach for about an hour, enjoying the crash of surf on shore, and the gathering storm clouds. It never did rain very much, but the sun hid behind the clouds for most of my time there. After almost five years of living in a tiny house with four people of the male persuasion (plus one dog), it was an amazing moment. I became reacquainted with myself during that time at Lake Erie, and felt very much at home in Ontario for the first time since I’d moved here in 2003.
This photograph was taken as I descended a very long flight of stairs that wound their way down a steep gorge toward Lake Erie. I was attending the Feast of the Dead put on by Tameika and Fox, who host several pagan functions each year, including The Spirits of the Earth Festival. This was the most beautiful weekend I’d had without my family in tow in years, and though I was surrounded by people I’d never met, I felt right at home among them.
Found a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 (old! but still!) in my storage closet and decided to play with it a little. I’m amazed how awesome it is for colour correction in digital photography. Fun! I’ll be posting the results of my experimentations with the software this evening.
Oh, and hi! :)
